What are the responsibilities and job description for the Distribution Center Assistant position at VELUX?
Under the direction of the Distribution Center Manager, this position takes a lead role in coordinating the day to day activities of the shipping and receiving processes within the Distribution Center. Responsibilities include shipping/receiving VELUX products in the most cost effective and efficient manner, physical inventory, and bar coding.

Primary Functions:
- Coordinating day to day shipping and receiving activities within the Distribution Center.
- General warehousing functions including operating a forklift and shipping/receiving,
- Assist in conducting physical inventory and bar coding.
- Assist with customer pick-ups.
- Other duties as assigned by the Distribution Center Manager.
- Traveling to other Distribution Centers as needed.
- Must have High School Diploma.
- One to three years of experience in shipping and receiving preferred.
- Certified Forklift license is preferred.
- Must be willing and able to travel.
- A basic understanding of the VELUX product line is preferred.
- A working knowledge of SAP would be beneficial.
- Must possess good communication skills and present a positive and professional appearance.
- Must possess an overall good work record and desire to work in a team environment.
- Must be capable of lifting/reaching/stooping/climbing with weights in excess of 135 lbs.
- Compliance with all rules of conduct, safety regulations and policies provided in Employee Handbooks, on Company bulletin boards/announcements, terms/conditions of employment or other means of communication is a requirement of the position.
