About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Director, Sales Engineering who will be a trusted advisor to our clients, leading complex product demonstrations, and partnering with cross-functional teams to drive successful customer acquisition. As the first in this role, you will play a critical role in shaping how we engage with prospects, demonstrate the value of our solutions, and support the sales team in closing deals.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a strategic partner and advisor to clients, understanding their unique needs and providing tailored solutions that maximize the value of Venn's products.
- Lead comprehensive product demonstrations and technical presentations to illustrate how Venn’s solutions address complex business challenges and align with client goals.
- Partner with Sales to identify customer pain points, define technical requirements, and deliver tailored solutions that drive business outcomes.
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Implementation teams to ensure seamless handoffs and cohesive client experiences.
- Identify and lead initiatives for continuous improvement within the Solutions Consulting practice, including refining demo scripts, templates, and playbooks.
- Provide expert feedback to Product and Engineering teams based on client experiences and industry trends to influence product innovation and alignment with market needs.
- Actively participate in customer workshops, scoping sessions, and post-sales support activities to ensure successful solution delivery and long-term client satisfaction.
Qualifications and Skills
- 5–10 years of experience in Sales Engineering, Solutions Consulting, or a similar role within a B2B SaaS company.
- Experience working in proptech.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to build credibility and rapport with stakeholders across all levels, from technical teams to C-suite executives.
- Strategic problem-solver who can adapt solutions to complex, diverse client needs and is skilled at managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong collaboration skills, with demonstrated success working across teams to ensure customer needs are met and exceed expectations.
- Proficiency in Google Suite, Excel, CRM systems, and a solid understanding of APIs and product integrations.
- Willingness to travel approximately 25% to engage with customers.
- Nice to have: experience building and leading teams.
This role is preferably based in our NYC office (hybrid schedule - 3 days in-office, 2 days at home). For New York-based candidates, this position has an estimated annual salary range of $130,000 - $160,000, plus commission, benefits and opportunities for equity. Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to demonstrated skill set, years and depth of relevant experience, and some role-dependent factors such as certifications. We welcome direct conversations with each candidate about compensation in all of our initial calls.
Salary : $130,000 - $160,000
