We are seeking a detail-oriented and hardworking Overnight Steward to join our culinary team. This role is essential in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our kitchen facilities during overnight hours. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, works well independently, and takes pride in upholding the highest sanitation standards. The Overnight Steward is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, dining areas, and related facilities during the night shift. This position ensures that all cleaning tasks are completed to meet health and safety standards and that the kitchen and front-of-house areas are ready for the following day’s operations. The ideal candidate will be reliable, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently during overnight hours.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Clean and sanitize all kitchen equipment, utensils, and workstations to ensure a safe and efficient environment.
• Wash dishes, glassware, pots, and pans using commercial dishwashing equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness in storage areas, walk-in coolers, and freezers.
• Dispose of trash and recycling properly, following sustainability guidelines.
• Assist with deep cleaning projects as needed.
• Ensure all cleaning supplies are stocked and report any maintenance or supply needs.
• Follow health and safety regulations to maintain compliance with sanitation standards.

Job Requirements

• Proven working experience as a Cleaner
• Ability to handle heavy equipment and machinery
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
• Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets
• Must be able to work inside and maneuver throughout the kitchen areas.
• Must be able to tolerate temperatures more than 130 degrees near dish machine, or cold more than 0 degrees in freezers.
• Must be able to use the cleaning equipment/chemicals including but not limited to Floor scrubbers, Vacuums, Blowers, Degreaser, Multi-Purpose, Enzymes, pressure washer, etc.
• Must be able to operate all kitchen equipment and machinery.
• Must be able to lift items up to 100 pounds.
• Must be able to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, push and pull while performing kitchen duties.
• Must meet once a week with a supervisor to go over the week and talk about what is needed for an order, what issues they are noticing, and what was accomplished for the week.

• Previous experience as a steward, dishwasher, or in a similar role preferred.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently during overnight shifts.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
• Capable of standing for extended periods and lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Availability to work weekends and holidays as needed.
