Molding Manager

Ventek is seeking a highly skilled and technically proficient Molding Manager for our Mt. Pleasant, TN site. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, this growth position will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the molding department, including shift performance metrics, process control, material planning, and managing a team of over 20 employees across three shifts. As part of the management team, the Molding Manager will also be involved in driving safety, quality, productivity, material handling, and cost performance within a high-performance work team environment. A relentless focus on continuous improvement will be essential to ensure the competitiveness of our manufacturing costs and processes. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise and a proven track record in managing complex manufacturing operations, ensuring consistent product quality, improving operational efficiency, and maintaining safety standards.
General Responsibilities of the Role:
- Oversee the daily operations of the molding department, ensuring that production goals are met while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Develop and execute production schedules, ensuring adequate manpower and material availability to meet deadlines.
- Monitor and troubleshoot any technical issues within the molding operation
- Lead initiatives for process optimization, waste reduction, and cost efficiency across the molding operation.
- Use data-driven insights to evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement strategies to improve overall production performance.
- Conduct regular inspections, audits, and testing on molded foam products to guarantee compliance with both internal and industry specifications.
- Manage a team of molding operators and technicians, providing technical support, training, and mentorship to ensure a high level of expertise within the department.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, safety, and accountability, ensuring all employees adhere to company policies and best practices.
The successful candidate will:
- B.S. in technical field; Highly prefer a strong mechanical, electrical and trouble- shooting background
- Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience, with at least 3 years managing a team
- Lead the charge in Ventek’s safety first philosophy
- Have proven success managing others
- IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 experience ideal
- Knowledgeable of a lean, continuous improvement environment, using Six Sigma, Kaizen and other lean tools
- Able to positively motivate a team
- Read and understand P&L, will have some P&L responsibility
- Communicate well within the plant and company
