What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controller position at Venteon?
Venteon is currently seeking an experienced Controller to fill an opening with a well-established company that is based in a western suburban of Lorain, Ohio.
Requirements of the Controller
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- 5 years of relevant supervisory experience in accounting or finance preferably in a non-profit, health care organization
- CPA preferred but not required
- Knowledge of dental and medical terminology.
- Strong computer skills with proficiencies in Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, payroll, and computer accounting systems.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills

Requirements of the Controller
- Manage finance department and provide oversight of the day-to-day activities for the accounting department.
- Responsible for the timely and accurate monthly financial reporting & analysis.
- Coordinate month end reporting with other business segments and month end consolidation
- Oversee and coordinate the annual financial statement audit and income tax requirements.
- Be able to respond to inquiries from the CFO and other finance and firm wide managers regarding financial results and other reporting requests.
- Prepare and track all treasury functions including the reconciliation of the company’s bank accounts and debt service on loan obligations.
- Support budget & forecasting activities
- Take a leadership role in the implementation of the company’s new ERP system.
- Manage the day-to-day direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Payroll, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Credit and other Accounting personnel.
