Venteon Finance is currently seeking an SEC Reporting Manager for a leading manufacturing company located in the metro Detroit area. In this role, you will be responsible for the preparation and review of SEC filings including 10-K, 10-Q’s, 8-K’s and lead technical accounting research and analysis, including the interpretation and analysis of new accounting standards and SEC rules.
Requirements of the SEC Reporting Manager
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA preferred
- 5 years of accounting and financial statement reporting experience.
- Strong technical accounting experience
- Solid knowledge of SEC, U.S. GAAP and SOX requirements
- Ability to clearly and concisely document technical accounting matters and communicate financial impact to stakeholders.
Responsibilities of the SEC Reporting Manager
- Manage the preparation and review of quarterly and annual SEC financial statements, including review of XBRL tagging
- Ensure accurate presentation of financial statements and disclosures in accordance with U.S. GAAP and SEC rules, as well as consistent presentation with other public releases and financial data.
- Manage the review and filing of other SEC filings, including 8-K’s, Proxy and others as required, while coordinating with others in the organization, including legal, tax, investor relations and treasury.
- Research technical accounting issues and evaluate the disclosure impact related to new events and activities, as well as the impact of new accounting standard updates, as needed.
- Assist with technical accounting memorandums documenting the Company’s accounting treatment and considerations
- Lead the lease accounting for total company, prepare and review lease accounting journal entries, account reconciliations and help ensure adherence to the corporate internal control framework
