SUMMARY
The System Administrator is responsible for the management and maintenance of the computer systems, networks, and firewalls to ensure stable operation of all hardware and software. This includes deploying, configuring, and optimizing servers, workstations, and virtual environments, as well as designing and troubleshooting LAN and WAN network topologies. The role also involves maintaining system security, patching processes, administering firewalls, and monitoring storage systems, with an emphasis on implementing best practices in network and server architecture.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage and administer server and workstation operating systems.
- Deploy, configure, and optimize the virtual server environment.
- Design, troubleshoot, and patch LAN and WAN network topologies.
- Deploy and maintain firewalls across all locations.
- Ensure the patching process is maintained for all workstations.
- Analyze and implement network and server topologies according to best practices.
- Monitor system logs to ensure security and performance, providing reports and statistics.
- Manage network assets, including maintaining inventory and documentation.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or 7 years of relevant work experience required.
- 5 years of experience with LAN and WAN technologies, including multiple network operating systems, topologies, and protocols, required.
- 5 years of experience administering a virtual server environment (VMware)
- CCNA or Network , Security , AZ-104 certification preferred.
