Location: 531 West Poplar Avenue| Tipton | CA | 93272
Hourly Rate: $24.11| $25.46 after 90 day probation (Overtime and weekends may be required)
We are hiring for a Flex Shift position which will cover all three shifts where needed.
Shift: 1st Shift 6am - 2:30pm
Shift: 2nd Shift 2pm - 10:30pm | Shift Differential $0.40 hour
Shift: 3rd Shift 10pm - 6:30am | Shift Differential $0.50 hour
JOB DESCRIPTION
The oil extraction operator works under the direction of the supervisor and foreman and is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the oil separators designed to safely recover orange, lemon and grapefruit oils
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Food Safety is the responsibility of all Ventura Coastal manufacturing employees. All Ventura Coastal manufacturing employees must be aware of CCPs in their area and how to document them appropriately. All staff must report food safety and quality problems to their immediate supervisor in charge during their shift.
- Operate finishers, frit screws, separators and polishers in oil mill
- Operate water flow to the JBT extractors for the oil system.
- Responsible for accurately filling out the “Raw Cream Processing Parameters” sheet
- Responsible for maintaining the highest quality at all times.
- Operate holding tanks for cold press(CP) oil prior to drumming
- Responsible for barreling oil daily to account for plant yield.
- Responsible for sampling each batch for laboratory analysis
- Perform regular CIP of all oil systems
- As needed dispense hazardous waste materials into designated containers
- Follow all safety rules and practices to include the wearing of all essential personal protective equipment.
- Follow all personal hygiene and food safety practices.
- Act professionally towards, customers, vendors and other plant visitors.
- Demonstrate reliable attendance, consistent punctuality and appositive attitude at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or relief foreman
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- High School diploma or equivalent(GED)
- Basic computer skills such as the ability to read a computer touch screen.
- Ability to read and understand DSR for oil blends.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- 80% of the time walking, standing, climbing stairs and ladders in a normal plant environment..
- Occasional lifting up to 40 lbs is required.
