What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pipe Fitter position at Venture Dynamics Enterprises, Inc.?
Venture Dynamics is seeking skilled Pipefitters to join our team. The Pipefitter will be responsible for installing, assembling, fabricating, maintaining, and repairing mechanical piping systems.
Duties:
- Read and interpret blue prints/sketches and install all piping systems with limited supervision.
- Perform shop prefab on piping systems using sketches/templates developed from blue prints and ship check.
- Rip out, repair, target, layout, fabricate, install and test marine piping systems onboard ships in various stages of repair and modernization
- Repair and replacement of ships’ piping systems such as Auxiliary Salt Water, Fire Main, Potable Water, Hydraulic, Compressed Air, Fuel Oil, Lube Oil, Engine Exhaust etc. are accomplished utilizing work item specifications, NAVSEA/Military standards and marine blueprints
- Necessary fabrication abilities include the use of various shop equipment such as table saws, pipe threading machines, bending machines (power as well as hand operated), drill presses and brazing equipment
- Tasks associated with this position are the strain free of pumps and miscellaneous ship equipment as well as blanking, pressure testing of tanks (structural boundary testing) and unblinking of the same.
- Proficiency in blueprint reading
- Mechanical knowledge for pipe system installation
- Familiarity with codes and standards related to pipefitting
- Ability to plumb pipes accurately
- Experience using calipers for precise measurements
- Strong understanding of basic math for measurements and calculations
