Wellness & Media Social Practitioner
Location: Brooklyn, NY (Fully In-Person)
Job Type: Full-time (100% In-person)
Salary: $55,000.00 – $60,000.00 per year
Reports To: Director of Venture House Brooklyn

As a Clubhouse Model program, we operate on a work-ordered day structure that promotes social integration, skill development, employment, education, housing, and peer support. Our holistic approach ensures that every member has the resources needed to thrive in a supportive, recovery-oriented environment.
With the recent launch of our Brooklyn Clubhouse, we are expanding our team and seeking a Wellness & Media Social Practitioner to lead health & wellness initiatives, creative arts programs, digital media projects, and community engagement activities.
This is a hands-on role that blends in-person outreach and media expertise, ensuring that Venture House Brooklyn continues to be the Beacon of Brooklyn in the mental health space.
Key Responsibilities
Social Practice & Member Engagement
- Work side-by-side with members to develop skills, build confidence, and support social integration.
- Provide individualized support to help members set and achieve personal goals.
- Foster a strength-based, recovery-oriented approach to mental health services.
- Facilitate group discussions, workshops, and activities focused on empowerment and personal growth.
- Support members in employment, education, and civic engagement initiatives.
- Regularly provide transportation to members during regular business hours operating one of our, company provided, vehicles.
Health & Wellness Programming
- Plan and facilitate cooking & nutrition workshops, actively preparing healthy meals alongside members as part of holistic wellness programming
- Organize wellness-focused activities such as mindfulness, fitness, and self-care sessions.
- Promote healthy lifestyle choices and help members integrate wellness into daily routines.
- Collaborate with community partners to connect members with health & wellness resources.
Media, Creative Arts & Digital Engagement
- Lead media-based projects such as podcasting, video production, photography, newsletters, and digital storytelling.
- Work alongside members to create engaging digital content (social media, short films, blogs, etc.).
- Ensure that all media projects align with Venture House’s mission and promote mental health awareness.
- Teach members how to use Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Illustrator, Photoshop) and other content tools (Canva, CapCut, etc.).
- Stay informed on emerging media & technology trends, including A.I. tools, to enhance outreach and member engagement.
Additional Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate documentation and track program participation.
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development.
Qualifications & Skills
Required:
✔ Bachelor’s degree (Social Work, Psychology, Media Studies, Communications, Art Therapy, or related field).
✔ Experience in mental health, social services, wellness programs, or creative arts.
✔ Strong community engagement and outreach skills.
✔ Comfortable with hands-on work in meal prep.
✔ Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Illustrator, Photoshop) and other digital tools (Canva, CapCut, etc.).
✔ Cultural competence and ability to work with diverse communities.
Preferred:
➤ Experience working in a Clubhouse Model or peer-supported setting.
➤ Background in media production, wellness coaching, or expressive arts therapy.
