Overview:
The Seat Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing automotive seating systems and components. The Engineer will define functional requirements, and develop system DVPR, DFMEA, and function models. The candidate will also be responsible for releasing component performance specifications, drawings and system validation. The successful candidate will be required to have interaction with other functional Engineering groups, suppliers, manufacturing plants and Purchasing. Interior -- technical cost reduction engineer.
Develop, plan, validate & implement cost reduction activities/projects to meet technical cost reduction targets. Work with interior engineering & other cross funct'l teams to generate ideas, study feasibility & execute changes to reduce material costs with no degradation in quality & customer experience. Responsible for the coordination and completion of projects. Oversees all aspects of projects. Sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, and monitors and summarizes progress of project. Prepares reports for upper management regarding status of project. Leads and directs the work of others.
Primary Skills:
Minimum 5 years' experience required.
Designing and Developing automotive seating systems
Ability to present cost savings ideas to Sr.management team.
Must have Interiors experience - Work with the Interior Team
Automotive OEM or TIER 1 component design, release and launch experience (concept, development and/or testing experience is a plus).
Experienced in working with cross-functional teams, e.g. Design, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Finance, Product Engineering, etc. Excellent communication (written and oral) and presentation skills.
Secondary Skills:
Excellent interpersonal skills. Must be a self-starter that is highly motivated and goal oriented. Must have the ability to organize and lead projects. Program Management skills are highly preferred.
Must have experienced in using MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) - Lotus Notes and MS Project a plus.

ABET accredited university. Other degree/educational credentials, in combination with relevant experience, may be considered.
