Job Summary
Are you the person your friends call when something needs to be fixed or repaired? Do you need to know how something works? Are you passionate about bikes and bicycle maintenance? If so, you might be VeoRide’s next Fleet Technician at UIUC.
As a VeoRide Fleet Technician at UIUC, you will be responsible for helping manage, maintain and repair our bike share fleet. VeoRide seeks technicians who are passionate about providing riders with excellent customer service by maintaining our bikes and continually improving the efficiency of our bike fleet operations. Fleet technicians will rebalance bicycles throughout the system and perform minor repair and maintenance related tasks.
An ideal candidate for this role will be a team player who loves to solve problems, work with their hands and be active throughout their entire shift.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Performing routine inspection and maintenance of customer bicycles
- Redistributing bikes around VeoRide’s service area
- Identifying, documenting and recovering bikes requiring in-shop repair
- Flexible schedule including early morning, night, and weekend shifts
- Logging maintenance activity in VeoRide’s information management system
- Responding to on-demand and in the field customer service requests
Qualifications and Skills
- Mechanical and technical aptitude. Previous bicycle or mechanical experience highly preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. and be on your feet for the entirety of a shift
- Knowledge of the UIUC area geography and street layout
- Highly responsive and detail oriented
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, a Team Player

Salary : $28,100 - $35,600
