POSITION SUMMARY:
This department provides coordinated, wraparound services for individuals ages 60 and older who are affected by domestic and/or sexual violence and other forms of abuse, including financial exploitation, as outlined in the grant funding. In this role, the Director will provide oversight including program development, supervision, and leadership to all areas of the Elder Abuse and Justice department. This position will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the program, infrastructure, data collection and analysis, reporting, along with community engagement coordination.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide oversight, program development and supervision, and leadership to the department and staff to ensure that the Vera House Agency services are maintained in accordance with the Agency’s mission and goals.
- Represent the Agency to the community and collaborate with community members to ensure the implementation and/or maintenance of the Agency’s programs and services.
- Serve as a liaison and build positive working relationships with community members and partnering agencies.
- Collect, analyze, and report program outputs and outcome data to funding sources.
- Assist in writing and submitting grants for public dollars and private foundation support. Supervise grant management objectives of staff.
- Deliver community and professional community presentations.
- Oversee the development and implementation of new programs.
- Collaborate with other staff to bring the necessary resources and training for staff development.
EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in education, Public Health, or related field. Masters’ degree preferred.
- Four to Six years’ experience in a supervisory role.
- Three to five years’ experience in program and curriculum development and delivery of education programs to populations of diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to solve complex problems and demonstrate critical thinking.
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Thorough knowledge of elder abuse, neglect and exploitation and domestic and sexual violence.
- Demonstrate strong leadership, planning, organizational, time management and analytical skills.
- Experience in supervision and grant management preferred.
