Position Summary:

We're seeking an SVP, Corporate Strategy & Finance to support the development of long-term strategic business plans, drive investment initiatives, and oversee financial strategy in alignment with company goals.

This role will be integral to identifying financial opportunities to shape the company's future success.

Responsibilities:

• Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic leadership and insight on financing plans, helping to evaluate creative financing strategies, generating options/alternatives for accessing capital, as well as supporting financial evaluation of these transactions.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with senior management to drive Vera Therapeutics' corporate strategy and long-term plans, identifying opportunities for internal and external investments to support Vera's growth and expansion.
• Financial Analysis: Develop and utilize forward-looking, predictive models and activity-based financial analyses to provide insight into the organization's operations and business plans.
• Capital Access: Develop long-range plans to access capital for future development needs and company growth objectives.
• Business Development: Partner with Business Development and cross-functional teams in developing financial assessments of new business opportunities.
• Global Business Strategies: Provide leadership in creating and executing global business strategies to support Vera's portfolio.
• Innovative Strategies: Develop and implement innovative strategies to advance business objectives and optimize portfolio value.
• Market Trends: Monitor market trends, competitors, and emerging opportunities to inform strategic decision-making.
• External Relationships: Represent Vera Therapeutics in external relationships with the broader business and financial communities.

Qualifications:

• Advanced Degree: Advanced scientific degree preferred; MBA is a plus.
• Industry Experience: 15 years of experience within the biotechnology or pharmaceuticals industry, with a strong focus on corporate development, portfolio strategy, and financial management.
• Transactional Experience: Proven track record of identifying, structuring, negotiating, and closing strategic transactions, including acquisitions, with expertise in financial analysis, corporate valuation, and deal structuring.
• Network: Deep network of business and corporate development contacts in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries, enabling effective partnerships and collaborations.
• Leadership: Demonstrated leadership in managing projects across a variety of therapeutic areas and successfully executing strategies, with financial acumen to assess opportunities and risks.
• Communication: Exceptional communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse audiences, including industry partners, financial institutions, Board of Directors, and senior management, while conveying financial implications of strategic decisions.
• Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving, analytical, and creative skills, with sound judgment to make data-driven decisions, including financial risk assessments, while maintaining scientific integrity and fostering a culture of excellence.
