Project Description
Individuals with successful project management experience are typically limited to projects of small scope, low risk, and complexity, and / or short duration. At this level, individuals are generally assigned to manage projects under the direction of a state supervisor or manager. These individuals are well-suited for small Client Agency projects with clear, achievable outcomes or for assignments as project support on larger initiatives. Individuals at this level can also serve in the capacity of a Project Controller, provided they meet the basic requirements of that position.
dvanced Level :
Individuals with a mastery of project management skills, qualifications, and experience operate effectively with minimal supervision while maintaining a high professional standard. They are assigned to extremely complex and / or high-risk projects that reflect the highest priorities of state government. These professionals are comfortable working with senior levels of state government and contribute meaningfully to advancing the state's objectives. They possess the necessary skills and experience to assist in statewide project portfolio management and / or IT Investment Management.
Job Summary :
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Project Manager to oversee projects of varying scope, complexity, and duration. The successful candidate will manage and deliver projects with clear, achievable outcomes, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and priorities. Depending on experience, the role may include managing smaller-scale projects or contributing to larger, high-risk, and complex initiatives. The position also offers opportunities to work in project support or in the capacity of a Project Controller, as needed.
Responsibilities
- Manage and deliver projects of small to medium scope, ensuring all objectives are met on time and within budget.
- Provide project support on larger, complex initiatives under the direction of a senior supervisor or manager.
- Identify and mitigate project risks while maintaining clear communication with stakeholders.
- Develop and manage project plans, schedules, and budgets to achieve desired outcomes.
- Lead cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and accountability.
- Serve as a Project Controller when required, ensuring project data is accurate and financials are tracked effectively.
- For advanced-level roles, oversee high-priority, high-risk, and complex projects with minimal supervision.
- Collaborate with state leadership to advance organizational objectives and contribute to IT Investment and statewide project portfolio management.
- Maintain a high professional standard and deliver results that reflect organizational priorities.
