Position Summary: Verdant Specialty Solutions is looking for a chemical engineering intern to work in either our Liberty or Palestine Texas, facilities. Reporting to the Plant Manager of the site, your primary areas of responsibility will be working on key project-related activities to support the production operations team and general plant initiatives.
Interns will be compensated at a rate of $25 per hour.

Essential Job Responsibilities: (Key activities will be dependent on site priorities during the internship months)
- Support plant HSE, quality, and manufacturing initiatives
- Assist with daily manufacturing troubleshooting - work to eliminate causes of operational problems and develop process improvements
- Collect data for statistical analysis to interpret and identify patterns and trends in the process
- Participate in overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) and other key metrics for continuous improvement initiatives on process equipment
- Assist with capital projects by providing engineering support, developing project scopes, developing cost estimates, and supporting commissioning
- Assist in plant trials of new product introductions
- Support the development of procedures, work instructions, and checklists related to the Quality Management System
- Assist with environmental compliance with wastewater, air, disposal, and other regulatory requirements
- Participate in all safety and process safety initiatives at the facility - participate in root cause investigations (RCI), audits, etc
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in chemical engineering
- Must be located in the United States and enrolled in a study program within the country
- Possesses a foundational knowledge of surfactants and organic chemistry
- Exhibits excellent communication, mathematical, and IT skills (Proficiency in Excel is desirable)
- Demonstrates problem-solving abilities
- Capable of independently managing workload, being proactive, and working without constant supervision
- Able to effectively establish cooperative working relationships by working collaboratively across different departments
