Position Summary: Summer Technical Services internships for undergraduate STEM majors with an interest in surface science and chemistry are available at Verdant Specialty Solutions. Students will have the opportunity to learn about surfactants and their use in the Household and Personal Care and Energy industries and applications. Project work will include conducting application tests to demonstrate performance, preparing prototype formulations, and presenting results to internal technical and marketing teams.
Interns will be compensated at a rate of $25 per hour.

Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Complete assigned projects on-time during the summer internship
- Learn the basics of Verdant's products, chemistry, and applications
- Attend internal technical meetings
- Draft mid-project updates for technical review
- Complete and deliver an end-of-summer overview presentation
- Work in a safe manner and comply with all required training and standard operating procedures
- Be comfortable working in a chemical laboratory environment co-located at a chemical manufacturing facility
- Work on-site for 40 hours a week during normal business hours
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and Excel)
- Possess a basic understanding of organic chemistry and organic functional groups
- Demonstrate professional communication skills in a commercial setting (sending emails, conducting Teams calls, utilizing Teams chat)
- Be self-motivated to complete assigned work, ask questions, and communicate status of projects
- Demonstrate skills organizing projects and work tasks to enable effective completion of assigned activities
- Apply current technical knowledge to tasks in the lab
- Current enrollment in a STEM undergraduate program (Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Chemical Engineering or other STEM field)
- Completion of coursework in organic chemistry
- GPA of 3.0 or above
- Order and communicate supply and chemical needs

Salary : $25
