Overview
VERDURE Fitness is a world class luxury fitness center. At over 76,000 square feet, beyond it's high tech and free-weight gyms, VERDURE Fitness is home to amenities including, rock climbing, a full water park, nutritional meal prep, boxing, pole-vaulting, a regulation indoor basketball court, golf simulator, racquetball, spa, chiropractic, massage, luxurious locker rooms, and hyperbaric treatment - all on site.
The Fitness Center General Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing the daily operations of our fitness facility, ensuring a high standard of service and member satisfaction. This position requires a dynamic leader who is passionate about fitness and wellness, with a strong background in operations, sales and management. The ideal candidate will foster a positive environment for both staff and members, driving engagement and promoting health-focused initiatives.
Duties
- Lead and manage the fitness team, providing guidance and support to ensure exceptional service delivery.
- Develop and implement sales strategies to meet membership goals and increase revenue.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all members.
- Conduct staff training sessions to enhance team performance and customer service skills.
- Monitor fitness programs and services to ensure they meet the needs of members.
- Communicate effectively with team members and clients to promote programs and services.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to create promotional materials that drive membership growth.
- Ensure that the facility is adequately staffed according to the operating plan for both peak and quiet operational times.
- Monitor the use of fitness equipment and maintain routine maintenance schedules to ensure that all equipment is in an optimal condition for use.
- Recruit, train, and maintain an effective team of staff and trainers as indicated by the facility’s operational plan.
- Assist with payroll functions and timekeeping of staff.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in fitness center management and operations.
- Bachelors degree or relevant experience in elite fitness center management. (10 years industry experience preferred)
- Previous experience as an Assistant Manager or in store management is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team
- A passion for fitness, wellness, and helping others achieve their health goals.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
