Job Summary:
The IT Director will be responsible for the strategic planning, implementation, and management of all IT operations for one of our clients which is a multi-site healthcare practice spread across 20 locations in the Orange County, NY. This role requires a hands-on leader with a strong understanding of healthcare IT, including HIPAA compliance, network security, and vendor management. The IT Director will ensure the reliability, security, and efficiency of our IT systems to support our growing practice and enhance patient care.
Responsibilities:
- ---Strategic IT Leadership:
- Develop and implement IT strategies aligned with the practice’s goals and objectives.
- Provide leadership and direction to the IT department, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Plan and manage the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions and resource allocation.
- ---Network and Infrastructure Management:
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the network infrastructure across all locations.
- Manage server infrastructure, data storage, and backup systems.
- Ensure network performance, reliability, and security.
- Setup and manage IT for new office locations.
- ---Security and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other relevant regulations.
- Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify and mitigate risks.
- Implement and manage security policies, procedures, and technologies.
- Manage email security, and spam filtering.
- ---Vendor Management:
- Evaluate and manage relationships with IT vendors for hardware, software, and services.
- Negotiate contracts and ensure vendor performance meets expectations.
- Manage phone systems.
- ---Help Desk and Support:
- Oversee the IT help desk to provide timely and effective support to staff.
- Develop and maintain IT support documentation and training materials.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex IT issues.
- ---Project Management:
- Plan and execute IT projects, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery.
- Manage project resources and communicate project status to stakeholders.
- ---Cost Optimization:
- Identify and implement cost-saving measures within the IT department.
- Regularly review and optimize IT expenditures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in IT management, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance and healthcare IT best practices.
- Proven experience in network administration, security, and vendor management.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience managing IT in a multi-site environment.
- Experience with phone systems management.
- Experience with cost optimization.
- Ability to travel to various locations if needed (occasional).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Network , Security ).
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
