Veritas Law is a small law firm based in Spokane, WA, providing premier legal services in Family Law, Civil, Probate, Estate Planning, and Business matters. Founded on the motto of "Guiding with Truth and Compassion", Veritas Law strives to be a dedicated and reliable source of legal help for the local community.
We are seeking a motivated Paralegal to join our team. As a Paralegal, you will be a pillar in the office, supporting two attorneys. We are a small team and are seeking an easygoing, optimistic addition to our group. Ideally, you will have recent experience in the legal field, preferably with the Spokane County courts.
You may be a great fit for this position if you have recent experience in any of the fields mentioned above, if you're a multitasking wizard who's able to consistently prioritize things on your to-do lists, and if you are known for your reliability and punctuality. Full time or part time will be considered, including flexible schedules.
DUTIES
- Assist in drafting legal documents such as discovery, pleadings, and motions.
- Interview clients to gather relevant information for cases.
- Manage and organize legal files and documents.
- Assist in preparing for trials by organizing exhibits, preparing JTMRs, and assembling binders.
- Track deadlines and hearing dates efficiently.
- Provide administrative support to attorneys as needed.
SKILLS
- Excellent writing skills in a variety of mediums.
- Familiarity with Clio or MyCase a plus.
- Experience Spokane County Court procedures a HUGE plus.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are required.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Compassion and empathy are a MUST!
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $22.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 40 per week
Schedule:
- 4 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
