What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facility Custodian – 2nd Shift position at Veritas Steel LLC?
Custodians employed at Veritas Steel Palatka are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of the facility. This includes daily cleaning of departmental and administrative offices, bathrooms, breakrooms, and common areas as well as occasional deep cleaning and organizational projects. Custodians will also be responsible for minor maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs and basic repairs. Custodians are responsible for proper disposal of waste and recyclables. 40 hours per week.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
- Daily cleaning of office, bathrooms, breakrooms, and common areas
- Minor maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs and basic repairs
- Proper disposal of waste and recyclables
- Adhere to the safety guidelines and regulations
- Communicate effectively with supervisor and peers
- Quality, accuracy, thoroughness, and reliability of work performed
- Monitor scrap and waste roll-off bins
- Operate a lawn mower, weed trimmer and pressure washer
- Paint with brush and roller

Working Conditions
The Custodian member work at Veritas Steel is performed indoors and outdoors in a large warehouse environment. There is regular exposure to dirt, dust, noise, moving equipment, heavy steel, heat, and other possible hazardous conditions.
Earplugs, hardhats, respirator, safety glasses and steel-toed boots are required.
