Job Summary:
This is a client relationship management and external sales role requiring business development, sales, and relationship management sales skills. This individual will be responsible for acquiring new clients, in addition to retaining and expanding current client base. The Relationship Manager position partners with a Portfolio Manager to ensure risk management within the credit portfolio.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Identifies, prioritizes, and develops relationship strategies for high-value prospects
Identifies and develops relationship expansion activities
Ensures prospects and clients are managed by appropriate commercial banking segment
Plans and executes quality client/prospect calls
Actively updates and maintains an accurate pipeline
Delivers knowledgeable advice and solutions, institutionalizes client relationships, and optimizes revenue opportunities to the Bank.
Isolates current and emerging client needs and proactively introduces solutions
Works with relevant business partners in team-based portfolio development and expertise delivery
Manages transaction processes from initial engagement through final close, including structure, pricing, internal approval / compliance processes and documentation
Exercises credit acumen and pricing discipline
Job Skills and Qualifications:
Five (5) years of Commercial Lending experience
Business development/sales skills
Strong relationship management skills
Willingness to collaborate and refer opportunities to bankers from across the franchise to ensure best fit
Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills
Understanding of credit and credit quality
Thorough knowledge of bank products and services
Ability to work effectively with individuals and groups in managing customer relationships
Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills
Strong negotiation and oral and written communication skills
Positive reputation and network of industry contacts
Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office
College degree preferred
