Vice President, Data Strategy & Sourcing

Verition Fund Management LLC ("Verition") is a multi-strategy, multi-manager hedge fund founded in 2008. Verition focuses on global investment strategies including Global Credit, Global Convertible, Volatility & Capital Structure Arbitrage, Event-Driven Investing, Equity Long/Short & Capital Markets Trading, and Global Quantitative Trading.

Job Title: Vice President, Data Strategy & Sourcing

Responsibilities

• Reporting to the firm’s head of data strategy and sourcing, engage in vendor management, procurement, and reporting for the firm as a whole
• Manage the data and platform needs for the firm’s internal trading groups
• Contract management (Preparation, Negotiation, Renewal).
• Interface with 3rd party service providers and be an effective conduit between our internal departments and outside vendors.
• Track all subscriptions, entitlements and report usage to the necessary internal and external entities as required.
• Coordinate billing with our internal accounting department for cost allocations and budgetary forecasting.
  
  

Requirements

• Must be comfortable communicating with senior internal and external stakeholders.
• Customer focused with strong organizational, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of Domestic and International Market Data offerings, both real-time and historic.
• Experience with vendors such as Bloomberg, Refinitiv, FactSet, MSCI, NYSE, Nasdaq, CME, S&P, etc.
• Able to multi-task and work under pressure, plan and problem solve.
• Must possess a willingness to learn and grow to meet the changing requirements of the job and business.
• Ability to learn new systems quickly.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office with advanced skills in Excel.
• Knowledge of EMRS and cost allocation systems such as Stavtar, FITS, and MDSL.
• Bachelor's degree required.
• 2-5 years’ experience of relevant experience, preferably at an investment manager or data vendor.
  
  

Salary Range: $150,000 USD - $200,000 USD
