Verity is hiring for a Business Services Support Specialist at our Seattle, WA Headquarters location. This is a hybrid position. Since 1933, Verity has been a local member-owned credit union. We are also the only financial institution in the Pacific Northwest that is a part of the Global Alliance for Banking on Values (GABV).

This position is responsible for supporting all small business membership and deposit functions, while assisting in all areas of the Business Services Department to achieve the target performance and growth. The Business Services Support Specialist has extensive contact with the members and is to conduct relationships in a manner that will enhance the overall marketing effort of the Credit Union.

- Base Pay: This position has a salary range of $25.37 (minimum) to $38.05 (maximum), with a midpoint of $31.71. Starting pay is offered based upon an applicant’s experience and education relevant to the position.
- Paid Time Off: All Verity employees receive 11 paid holidays per year and 3 floating holidays, as well as paid time off (PTO is combined vacation and sick leave.) PTO starts accruing immediately at a rate of 20 days per year.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Due Diligence and Compliance
- Order and review applicable due diligence items (operating agreements, account cards, business license, entity documentation, etc.).
- Ensure credit stipulations and covenants are followed, and loan packages are complete.
- Maintain knowledge of all state and federal regulations applicable to transactions performed.
- Assist management in preparation for internal/external audits.
Product and Service Management
- Assist the Business Services Development Officer with managing auxiliary business services products (ACH, RDC, analysis accounts, etc.).
- Monitor and manage the existing business membership portfolio, focusing on product performance of existing relationships.
- Act as a backup for questions regarding business products and services.
Member Support and Communication
- Follow up on business memberships and business services.
- Provide loan services support for business members.
- Send correspondence to members and follow up when necessary.
- Keep the team informed during the onboarding process and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
- Ability to interact in a courteous and professional manner with other departments, vendors, outside visitors, and by phone.
Training and Collaboration
- Assist the Business Services team in improving knowledge of Business Services products across other delivery channels, including supporting the Branch Network to increase sales opportunities.
Research and Reporting
- Research industry trends and risks.
- Compile reports as requested by management.
General and Miscellaneous Duties
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

- Business Account Expertise: Demonstrates deep understanding of business accounts, deposit products, and related processes. Proficient in interpreting and managing entity documentation and business licensing requirements.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Maintains up-to-date knowledge of federal and state regulations affecting business membership and services. Ensures compliance with security procedures and credit stipulations.
- Client Relationship Management: Builds and nurtures strong member relationships, providing courteous and professional support. Effectively follows up with members to address needs and resolve issues.
- Analytical Thinking: Collects, organizes, and interprets complex data to ensure thorough due diligence and informed decision-making. Skilled in conducting trend and risk analysis to identify business opportunities and mitigate risks.
- Collaboration and Team Support: Works collaboratively with internal teams and the branch network to enhance business service knowledge and sales opportunities. Supports onboarding processes and troubleshooting in a team environment.
- Attention to Detail: Maintains accuracy and completeness in loan packages, reports, and correspondence. Ensures compliance with documentation requirements and resolves discrepancies promptly.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Exhibits excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with members, internal teams, and external stakeholders. Presents a professional image that reflects the credit union’s values.
- Technical Proficiency: Demonstrates the ability to quickly learn and utilize commercial underwriting and other specialized software. Competent in compiling management reports and performing basic mathematical calculations.
- Problem-Solving and Adaptability: Approaches challenges with creative solutions and a results-driven mindset. Prioritizes effectively to meet deadlines and adapts to changing demands or unexpected issues.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in business banking, credit union operations, or a similar financial services role.
- Strong communication and customer service skills with experience supporting members or clients in a professional setting.
- Knowledge of business account products & documentation, compliance regulations, and due diligence procedures required.
