Job Announcement:
The Vermilion Parish Police Jury is seeking a Director of Finance to oversee and manage the Parish’s budget and financial operations, reporting directly to the Parish Administrator.
This key role involves supervising department staff, preparing and administering the Parish’s annual budget, ensuring compliance with financial laws, policies, and procedures, and coordinating with external auditors.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (CPA preferred), at least five years of experience in local government or governmental accounting, and strong organizational and communication skills. Responsibilities also include managing cash flow, investments, and financial reporting, as well as collaborating with various departments on budget and accounting matters.
