What are the responsibilities and job description for the Finance Coordinator position at Vermont Foodbank?
Position Purpose :
This full-time finance assistant position consists of maintaining A / R and working with the finance team to meet the responsibilities of the finance department. An ideal candidate is confident, comfortable making independent decisions, able to maintain confidentiality, can provide a high level of quality customer service and problem solving, is organized, familiar with accounting procedures and accounting software, detail-oriented, accurate, tactful, and diplomatic. The ability to become proficient in Vermont Foodbank policies and procedures is required.
The starting pay for the position is set at $26.46 with eventual potential range ($53,560 to $64,215) placement based on years of experience within VF compensation equity roadmap. Benefits include options for fully employer paid health insurance, and a generous annual leave package that includes a week off at the end of the calendar year.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities :
- Process accounts receivable
- Processes incoming checks and work with the Philanthropy and Finance Teams to log and properly apply receipts
- Makes manual deposits at the Foodbank's bank when necessary
- Processes over the phone payments, applying these payments appropriately and sending receipts to the payee
- Processes and applies ACH payments
- Processes non-inventory credit memos and invoices
- Answers constituent questions related to accounts receivable
- Processes AR Aging Reconciliations and works with agencies to ensure payment
- Processes and distributes account receivable statements
- Serve as primary contact with agencies around financial matters related to Community Driven Initiatives
- Reviews grant requests for accuracy prior to submission to Accounts Payable and notifies agencies when funding is awarded
- Monitors and directs incoming phone calls and voice mail
- Order supplies for the finance department
- Performs data entry tasks
