What are the responsibilities and job description for the Item Catalog Data Specialist position at Vermont Information Processing?
The Item Catalog Data Specialist plays a critical role in the ongoing maintenance of a comprehensive catalog of packages and brands that VIP has created for the Beverage Industry. This entry-level position is responsible for monitoring a group of assigned accounts (beverage suppliers & distributors), and assisting them in adding content to the Item Catalog that meets a set of data quality rules.
Position Type: Full Time, Hybrid - will be required to report to our office in Colchester, VT
Primary Responsibilities:
- Validate and ensure data quality and accuracy on an ongoing basis
- Populate and maintain individual items, brands, and their attributes within the item catalog based on a set of established business rules
- Monitor incoming data requests and assist customers in uploading and downloading data from the catalog
- Assist in documenting data creation and maintenance procedures
Requirements:
- High level of attention to detail and ability to prioritize work
- Speed and proficiency on a standard keyboard
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and others inside the company to solve problems
- Ability to work independently
- Exposure to Excel and related business applications
- Ability to learn and become proficient with unfamiliar systems
- College preferred but not required
