Welding Machine Repair Technician

JOB SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Repair Manager, rebuild, repair and maintain welding machines, plasma cutters and welding related equipment. This person will inspect machine and diagnose electronic circuitry through the process of component testing, disassemble machine using hand tools, select replacement parts, or repair and replace parts such as scr’s, igbt’s, pcb, diodes, motors, pumps, switches, relays, rectifiers (dc and ac), drives - will solder loose connections, rewire electrical circuits, reassemble machines, weld test and load bank test. This person will also repair and diagnose gasoline and diesel engines and must have the ability to replace carburetors, filters, fluids, water pumps, belts, hoses, batteries, and gaskets.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform major and minor repairs of welding equipment and associated equipment utilizing vendor technical manuals and wiring schematics;
• Replace defective parts and complete preventative maintenance required;
• Research and order parts as required in order to complete repairs;
• Inspect returned equipment for proper operation and/or damage by the customer;
• Maintain maintenance log to document time and supplies to accurately bill customers;
• Operate a forklift, pallet jack or other necessary equipment to stock required parts in the shop;
• Ensure clean and organized work environment at all times;
• Occasionally required to service equipment and customers off-site;
• Driving company vehicle in a safe competent efficient manner;
• Assemble electric, diesel, gas, and propane equipment for rental

EXPERIENCE:

• Experience repairing welding machines or generators is not required but strongly encouraged - we will train you;
• Experience in electrical, small engine repair, HVAC, computer or appliance repair is preferred;
• MUST be able to read electrical schematics and know how to use a multi-meter.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position has many work areas from the repair facility to the customer work site.

SALARY RANGE

$40,000 yearly, depending on experience. Great benefits, paid vacation and 401K.

Pay: $23.70 - $28.55 per hour
