Position Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Physical Therapy Technician to assist our physical therapists in providing top-tier care in a fast-paced, clinical setting. You will help patients with exercises, mobility, and transfers while ensuring a positive and supportive experience. Additional responsibilities include setting up treatment areas, operating therapeutic equipment, educating patients on exercise techniques, and maintaining a clean and organized therapy environment. Strong communication, multitasking, and organizational skills are essential as you manage patient flow and contribute to a seamless clinic experience.
Experience:
Preferably 1 year of experience in an orthopedic or outpatient physical therapy setting.
Skills:
- Patient Care: Assist with exercises, mobility, and transfers, providing a safe, positive experience.
- Physical Therapy Knowledge: Familiarity with therapeutic techniques, basic anatomy, and rehabilitation exercises.
- Technical Proficiency: Use of therapeutic equipment (e.g., ultrasound, electrical stimulation).
- Communication: Strong verbal skills to guide patients and collaborate with therapists.
- Organizational Skills: Efficiently manage patient scheduling, documentation, and administrative tasks.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to assist with patient transfers and perform physical tasks.
- Safety Awareness: Knowledge of infection control, hygiene practices, and body mechanics.
- Teamwork: Collaborate with healthcare staff to ensure optimal patient care.
- Attention to Detail: Ensure accurate patient documentation and progress tracking.
- Time Management: Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy clinic.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist physical therapists with patient exercises and mobility training.
- Maintain a clean, organized therapy space and sanitize equipment.
- Prepare treatment areas and equipment for patient use.
- Educate patients on proper exercise techniques under the guidance of the therapist.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families.
- Assist with administrative duties, including scheduling and patient flow.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework in healthcare or kinesiology is a plus.
- Previous experience in healthcare or fitness is preferred, but not required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy clinic environment.
