What are we looking for?
The Instructional Designer will be responsible for the design and development of well organized, high-quality, effective and meaningful training courses and reference materials for the operational training team in accordance with adult learning theory and the principles of good training. This role will apply formal instructional design methodology to design and develop performance-based training and educational tools across a variety of delivery mediums in a fast-paced environment, with an emphasis on practical and solution-oriented curriculum design.

What are we looking for?
The Instructional Designer will be responsible for the design and development of well organized, high-quality, effective and meaningful training courses and reference materials for the operational training team in accordance with adult learning theory and the principles of good training. This role will apply formal instructional design methodology to design and develop performance-based training and educational tools across a variety of delivery mediums in a fast-paced environment, with an emphasis on practical and solution-oriented curriculum design.

- Design and develop interactive virtual and self-paced training programs using principles of ADDIE, Bloom’s Learning Taxonomy, Kirkpatrick's Levels of Training Evaluations
- Create, develop, manipulate, and share learning content using a variety of technology
- Create, implement, and maintain a knowledge base of on-the-job resources and information
- Work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and other leadership to identify and capture learning and technical requirements for requested curriculum design
- Select the appropriate delivery medium for each course/module based on educational requirements, timeframes, implementation strategy, etc.
- Transform complex concepts into simple training materials and on-the-job resources
- Apply an innovative mindset to solving learning design problems that arise during the development process
- Transform existing training curriculum into engaging and impactful educational courses quickly
- Manage an aggressive schedule of course and program development
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement by following up with instructors and assessing course feedback
- Research and recommend educational innovations (e.g. micro learning, gamification, role-play, etc.)
- Project manage all phases of learning projects
- Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Online Learning, eLearning, Education, or a closely related field preferred. (Five years of demonstrated instructional design experience in lieu of education will be considered)
- One to three years of proven success as a Curriculum Designer producing high quality interactive training courses across a variety of delivery mediums
- Experience designing for adult learners in a business environment required along with a portfolio of work demonstrating breadth and depth of experience and skills in curriculum design and adult education • Blended learning experience required
- Knowledge of managed care, health care or vision care industry a plus
- Experience working with a learning management system (LMS) preferred
- Software Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Power-Point, Excel, SharePoint) and the Adobe Suite of Products as well as Virtual training platforms such as Zoom, Ring Central, or Adobe Connect required
- Experience with course design software such as Vyond, Captivate, and Camtasia preferred
- Experience with knowledge base authoring software such as Adobe Robohelp or Confluence preferred.
