Supervising Psychiatrist – Contract 1099   POSITION SUMMARY As a contract supervising psychiatrist, you will lead a team of Physician Assistants and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners to deliver compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric care. You will contribute to the development of protocols and practices to ensure alignment with current best practices, as well as legal, ethical, and regulatory standards.   You and your team will have primary admission privileges and responsibility for psychiatric partial hospitalization programs and intensive outpatient programs as well as outpatient medication management.    Qualifications The ideal candidate for this position has experience and expertise in psychiatry, outstanding leadership skills, and the desire to embrace a team-based approach that models collaborative, solution-based problem solving, and authentic communication.   PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Regulatory: Evaluate potential admissions flagged as needing medical approval. Review and co-sign any documentation requiring oversight. Ensuring the adequacy of individual treatment plans (including medication plans) developed with the participation of professional personnel, including notations of contraindications and precautions. Providing or arranging for daily medical coverage to meet patient needs.   Develop and supervise a team of PAs and NPs: Work with the People Team to recruit, hire, and train a team of full-time and per diem staff to meet established staffing ratios. Maintain and adjust a staffing schedule Facilitate opportunities for professional growth and development. Provide supervision for team members. Foster a culture of collaboration, communication, positive energy, and compassionate support for patients, peers, and oneself.   Note: The essential job functions of this position are not limited to the duties listed above. Ability to see well enough to read handwritten and typewritten material. Ability to handle a variety of repetitive tasks at a moderate level. Ability to drive a motor vehicle to designated sites.
