The Director of HR Client Services is responsible for the growth, management, and success of Vertex’s HR service offerings to schools across the country. This mission-driven, values-based leader will drive business expansion, oversee resource allocation, and ensure the delivery of high-quality HR services, including talent acquisition, employee relations, compliance, and HR consulting. The Director will play a pivotal role in revenue management, service optimization, and client retention, working closely with sales, marketing, and finance teams to align HR services with organizational objectives. By fostering strong client relationships and continuously improving service delivery, this role helps schools create effective, compliant, and well-supported work environments—ultimately contributing to student success.

Essential Functions:
- Service Line Growth
- Lead and promote Vertex’s HR service offerings to schools nationwide, driving growth and expansion.
- Develop and execute strategies to enhance the value and reach of HR services.
- Monitor and manage service line revenue, contribution margin, and resource allocation to ensure sustainable growth.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and finance teams to align HR services with go-to-market strategies and business objectives.
- Develop partnerships and secure contract renewals, playing a key role in the sales and growth process.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with current and potential school clients.
- Delivering Exceptional Service
- Establish and uphold exceptional customer service standards for HR support provided to schools.
- Act as a trusted HR advisor, helping schools navigate benefits, employee relations, and compliance challenges.
- Develop and refine service agreements that define clear expectations and deliverables.
- Continuously evaluate and improve HR service offerings based on client feedback and industry trends.
- Overseeing the Delivery of HR Services
- Oversee the end-to-end delivery of HR services to client schools, ensuring high-quality support in talent acquisition, employee relations, and HR compliance.
- Lead strategic teacher recruitment and workforce planning efforts, ensuring schools have access to top-tier talent.
- Ensure HR policies, procedures, and services align with federal, state, and local regulations across multiple states.
- Provide guidance on conflict resolution, investigations, risk mitigation, and compliance best practices to support school leaders.
- Team Leadership
- Lead and develop an HR team responsible for service delivery and client satisfaction.
- Implement scalable processes to support the growth of Vertex’s HR service line.
- Set and monitor performance goals to ensure high-quality HR support for schools.
- Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and client-focused service delivery.
Required Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in HR leadership, client services, or HR consulting.
- Proven experience in HR service delivery across multiple organizations or locations.
- Strong background in talent acquisition, especially in education sector recruitment.
- Experience in business development, client management, or HR service sales.
- Demonstrated success in managing HR teams and service operations.
- PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months).
- Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience providing HR services to schools or educational institutions.
- Knowledge of multi-state HR compliance and employment law.
- California-specific HR experience and familiarity with CA employment laws.
- Californian HR certification (e.g., PHRca, SHRM California Law HR Specialty Credential).
- Proven track record in scaling HR service offerings and driving revenue growth.
- Strong network within the education sector or charter school industry.
