GENERAL SUMMARY:
Performs a variety of mechanical and basic electrical assembly tasks related to the fabrication and assembly of systems in accordance with common military, commercial, and aerospace specifications.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assembles and disassembles complex electrical and mechanical systems.
- Performs duties using pneumatic tools, electric tools, hand tools, and measuring equipment.
- Performs basic electrical assembly/disassembly of parts/components/hardware, connectors, and wiring into cabinets, chassis, and console-type assemblies.
- Performs basic mechanical assembly/disassembly/adjustment of parts/components/hardware in mechanical systems.
- May perform informal, in-process checks on manufactured or processed items.
- May assist other related job classifications when directed.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Practical knowledge of basic electrical and mechanical assembly processes.
- Ability to use pneumatic tools, electric tools, hand tools, and measuring equipment.
- Ability to read, interpret, and analyze engineering drawings, production planning, and other technical documents.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
Physical and Other Requirements:
- Requires bending, reaching, and lifting of objects within established guidelines.
- Ability to obtain a security clearance may be required.
