Mechanical Worker I

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Performs a variety of mechanical and basic electrical assembly tasks related to the fabrication and assembly of systems in accordance with common military, commercial, and aerospace specifications.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assembles and disassembles complex electrical and mechanical systems.
• Performs duties using pneumatic tools, electric tools, hand tools, and measuring equipment.
• Performs basic electrical assembly/disassembly of parts/components/hardware, connectors, and wiring into cabinets, chassis, and console-type assemblies.
• Performs basic mechanical assembly/disassembly/adjustment of parts/components/hardware in mechanical systems.
• May perform informal, in-process checks on manufactured or processed items.
• May assist other related job classifications when directed.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Practical knowledge of basic electrical and mechanical assembly processes.
• Ability to use pneumatic tools, electric tools, hand tools, and measuring equipment.
• Ability to read, interpret, and analyze engineering drawings, production planning, and other technical documents.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED

Physical and Other Requirements:

• Requires bending, reaching, and lifting of objects within established guidelines.
• Ability to obtain a security clearance may be required.
