Vertex Service Partners is a company focused on acquiring and growing residential home improvement services companies in the United States, with a focus on residential roofing & other exterior services. Vertex is backed by Alpine Investors, a top-decile private equity fund with a long history of successful investments in similar industries. Vertex will be an investment out of Alpine’s 9th fund, which will have ~$4.5 billion of committed capital. Mission of the role:

As a Business Intelligence Analyst, you will develop actionable BI solutions to support data-driven decision-making across fast-growing roofing brands at Vertex. Your role includes maintaining data integrity, creating and enhancing data visualization, and developing tools that empower stakeholders to maximize business performance

Where you’ll make an impact:

• Collaborate with teams to design and maintain dashboards that provide insights into business performance.
• Develop processes to validate and standardize data across systems, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
• Conduct in-depth analyses to uncover trends and provide actionable recommendations for decision-making.
• Create and automate performance reports to enable tracking of key performance metrics.
• Optimize BI tools and train stakeholders to maximize their value and usability.
• Respond to business challenges by delivering ad-hoc analyses and uncovering actionable insights.

• Deliver consistent and reliable business intelligence outputs, ensuring data accuracy and usability across all platforms.
• Establish and maintain robust data validation processes to ensure the accuracy and integrity of data across multiple systems and platforms.
• Optimize and standardize BI tools and dashboards to ensure they provide actionable insights and are intuitive for end-users across the organization.
• Build and maintain intuitive, user-friendly dashboards and reports to enable data-driven decisions across the organization.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify key metrics and reporting needs, ensuring dashboards align with business objectives and decision-making requirements.
• Design and implement visually appealing and interactive dashboards that simplify complex data into easy to read visuals.
• Continuously refine and update reports and dashboards based on user feedback and evolving business priorities to maintain relevance and usability.
• Establish and maintain data standards to ensure metric consistency and alignment across teams.
• Define and document clear data standards and metric definitions, ensuring all teams use consistent terminology and calculations.
• Implement processes to proactively address discrepancies and maintain trust in the data.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align on key metrics and reporting structures, fostering a unified approach to data-driven decision-making.
• Automate recurring reporting processes, reducing manual effort and enabling timely delivery of insights.
• Develop and implement automated data pipelines and workflows to streamline the extraction, transformation, and loading of data for recurring reports.
• Create reusable templates and scripts for generating standardized reports, ensuring consistent formatting and reducing manual intervention.
• Leverage BI tools and scheduling features to deliver automated, real-time insights to stakeholders, minimizing delays and enhancing decision-making efficiency.
• Develop strong relationships with stakeholders by providing actionable data solutions and ensuring seamless collaboration.
• Proactively engage with stakeholders to understand their data needs and business challenges, ensuring solutions align with their objectives and drive value.
• Deliver clear, actionable insights and solutions that address stakeholder priorities, demonstrating a commitment to their success and earning their trust.
• Foster open communication and collaboration across teams, encouraging feedback and iterating on BI tools and reports to enhance usability and relevance.

Who you are:

• You have worked as a BI Analyst, Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar role for 2 years
• You have 2 years of writing SQL queries with the intention of being utilized in BI tools
• You have 2 years of developing with Power BI and comfortable with advanced functions (i.e. DAX, table relationships, row level security, user management)
• You are proficient with Excel (i.e. data manipulation, macros, charts and pivot tables)
• You are detail oriented and have an aesthetic eye towards building customer-facing, professional work products
• You are a strong communicator who can translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for a variety of audiences
• You are a proactive problem solver who thrives in dynamic environments and excels at developing innovative solutions to business challenges
• You are comfortable with project-based work and have exceptional time management, organization, and prioritization skills
• You have an entrepreneurial spirit and desire to build a function from the ground up
• You are capable of and eager to drive accountability without direct authority
