Job Description
- Supervise and manage paving crews and subcontractors, ensuring proper execution of work on road, parking lot, and other paving projects.
- Oversee daily operations, including scheduling, planning, and coordinating the flow of materials and resources to keep projects on track.
- Ensure that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality standards and safety regulations.
- Inspect job sites regularly to ensure proper equipment, tools, and materials are being used and that the work adheres to project specifications.
- Perform daily safety briefings and ensure all safety measures are adhered to, addressing any issues or hazards promptly.
- Maintain effective communication with project managers, clients, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure alignment of project goals.
- Monitor and resolve any issues that arise during construction, adjusting work plans and schedules as necessary to keep projects on track.
- Assist in developing and implementing methods to improve the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of paving operations.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including reports on work progress, safety incidents, and workforce performance.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications or training in construction management, paving, or related field preferred.
- Proven experience (5 years) in a paving or construction superintendent role, with expertise in asphalt.
- Strong leadership abilities and experience managing and supervising large teams in a construction environment.
- Deep knowledge of paving equipment, materials, and industry best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to adapt to changing conditions and challenges.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations, OSHA standards, and construction site protocols.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and project specifications.
- Outstanding communication and organizational skills.
- Valid driver's license and a clean 7 year MVR
