What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technical Inside Sales Engineer, Channel position at Vertiv?
POSITION SUMMARY
This role provides technical pre-sales support for targeted national partners and their customers on Vertiv channel IT Infrastructure products and solutions. This role involves:
- Offering configuration assistance or developing actual product configurations.
- Interacting with resellers' technical teams to understand customer application requirements.
- Performing Live Demonstrations of Vertiv Monitoring and IT Management Software solutions.
- Assisting Field Sales Engineers and Resellers with providing quotes for Licensing and renewal of Vertiv software licenses.
- Provide feedback to product offering teams for future Software and Monitoring functionality.
- Offering technical guidance or clarification to partner sales teams on effective selling strategies.
The position will primarily interface with reseller technical teams, reseller sales teams, and the Vertiv Sales teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide technical pre-sales support between Vertiv and targeted resellers.
- Collaborate closely with Vertiv field sales teams on shared opportunities; Identifying Monitoring and IT Management hardware and software opportunities as they arise.
- Review or generate optimized Vertiv solution configurations to meet specific application requirements.
- Provide technical sales support to targeted national resellers through training and presentations.
- Serve as an escalation point for resellers and partners on basic technical pre-sales questions.
- Offer pre-sale applications engineering support via phone, email, and web to national resellers.
- Assist in defining technical pre-sales elements for marketing collateral aimed at national resellers.
- Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related technical field.
- Familiarity with IT networking and communication systems.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently.
- Strong computer skills, including working knowledge of MS Office Suite.
- Highly detail-oriented with a critical degree of accuracy regarding problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skill. Strong presentation skills.
- Capable of effectively interacting with global personnel.
- Professional attitude towards customer relations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of support experience in the information technology industry, with a preference for data center industry experience.
- Strong networking background with industry-recognized network and/or security-related certifications (e.g., Network , Security ).
- Familiarity with UPS and power distribution products.
- Experience with environmental monitoring hardware and software solutions and underlying technologies.
- Familiarity with KVM Switching and Serial Console technologies
- Understanding of Virtual Computing concepts (VM’s, VM Hosts and Hypervisors)
PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
TIME TRAVEL REQUIRED
- Occasional travel or after-hours support may be needed.
