Just like Jake, our newest Account Executive shares, as a US-based Account Executive at Vertosa, you’ll have the opportunity to support the entire sales life cycle and help your clients shape their ideas into reality. You’ll get an inside look at the cutting-edge technology driving the development of a new consumer product category poised to rival the mainstream food and beverage industry. Your front-row seat in the most innovative sector of the cannabis and hemp industry means the long-lasting relationships you build will launch new products consumers love - and you won’t do it alone. In the first year, you will have the opportunity to:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients to address inquiries, resolve challenges, and ensure a seamless customer experience based on the unique needs of our industry.
- Identify, prospect, and develop new business opportunities through research, networking, and cold outreach.
- Expand existing accounts by identifying new product and market expansion opportunities.
- Negotiate and close deals, including contracts, pricing, and fulfillment timelines, in a fast-paced, competitive environment with changing market conditions and customer needs.
- Collaborate with other departments, including Operations, R&D, Marketing, and Quality, to ensure a cohesive approach to customer acquisition, retention, and issue resolution.
- Manage and maintain accurate sales records, including forecasts, budgets, and pipeline data.
- Conduct market research to best understand our customers’ needs, stay up-to-date on industry trends, and ensure a deep understanding of relevant laws and regulations.
- Participate in industry events and conferences to build brand awareness and network with potential clients or partners.
To be successful as a top-performing Account Executive, you will bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5 years experience in cannabis or food and beverage ingredient sales preferred, with a proven track record of achieving revenue targets and building long-lasting client relationships.
- Proficiency with sales tools, such as CRM systems, Excel, and digital document platforms.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients and other team members.
- Knowledge of the industry and market trends, including competitors and emerging technologies.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a high-paced environment.
- Willing to travel to meet with clients or attend industry events up to 25% of a given quarter.
- Must be a passionate champion for cannabis, although Vertosa does not require cannabis consumption for any employees.
- Must reside in the United States and be eligible to work in the United States.
