We are seeking a strategic and results-oriented Asset Manager to lead foreclosure, bankruptcy, and litigation surveillance efforts across our delinquent loan portfolio. This role requires a high level of ownership and independent problem-solving, with a focus on optimizing outcomes and driving continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will bring subject matter expertise, analytical rigor, and a process-focused mindset to oversee servicer performance, identify inefficiencies, and enhance portfolio results. This position is highly cross-functional and requires strong leadership, legal literacy, and the ability to translate data and complexity into action.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Asset Oversight & Servicer Management
- Fully own the performance of delinquent loans in foreclosure, bankruptcy, and litigation.
- Act as the primary point of contact with servicers and external counsel.
- Lead monthly servicer portfolio review meetings and ensure effective communication.
- Develop and implement performance metrics, dashboards, and reporting to guide decision-making.
- Ensure timely and compliant servicer actions; proactively address delays and inefficiencies.
Process Improvement & Risk Management
- Review and redesign processes to address root causes and improve consistency
- Identify risks in legal or servicing processes and implement long-term solutions
- Build scalable frameworks for repeatable, efficient asset management execution.
Foreclosure Management
- Monitor and ensure adherence to foreclosure timelines and reduce controllable delays.
- Set bids for foreclosure auctions; preserve rights such as assignments of leases/rents and deficiency judgments.
- Develop strong relationships with foreclosure law firms and oversee management of contested foreclosures.
Bankruptcy Oversight
- Track bankruptcy payment plans and servicer compliance.
- Ensure outside counsel is efficient and aligned with business goals.
- Recommend and escalate servicer corrective actions when necessary.
Litigation Coordination
- Serve as business lead coordinating with servicer legal teams and internal counsel.
- Oversee resolution of litigated matters with a focus on process efficiency and outcome optimization.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree is a plus.
- 5 years of experience in asset management, servicing oversight, legal operations, or related areas.
- Expertise in foreclosure, bankruptcy, and litigation practices, including experience reading and interpreting legal documents
- Experience working with third-party servicers, legal counsel, and cross-functional teams.
- Advanced Excel skills required - including ability to represent scenarios efficiently in Excel; SQL proficiency or willingness to learn preferred
