The Position
The Vice President, Health Economics Outcomes Research (HEOR) will lead the development and execution of health economics outcomes research, real-world evidence strategies, and evidence generation. As a functional expert, this role requires deep cross-functional knowledge to build organizational alignment while anticipating and responding to industry trends. The Vice President will drive strategic initiatives that foster innovation, enhance organizational growth, and have a significant mid- to long-term impact on performance, all while cultivating a high-performance, collaborative culture.
Job Responsibilities
- Serve as a functional expert, understanding cross-functional interactions to build organizational alignment and drive HEOR initiatives, ensuring long-term success and competitiveness.
- Lead the development of economic value propositions within the product development process by working cross-functionally to ensure alignment, developing HEOR strategic plans that integrate key stakeholder input, align clinical and medical priorities.
- Providing thought leadership on access and reimbursement issues to influence new product planning.
- Gather and synthesize insights from payers, key opinion leaders (KOLs), and HEOR experts, staying ahead of scientific and policy trends.
- Offer strategic guidance on clinical trial design, ensuring the selection of relevant endpoints to support HEOR objectives.
- Design and implement research studies that inform portfolio decisions, regulatory submissions, marketing strategies, and reimbursement planning.
- Collaborate with department leaders to address functional challenges and develop effective, forward-thinking solutions.
- Develop and execute optimized pricing and contracting strategies in collaboration with senior leadership.
- Maintain strong partnerships with external agencies and vendors to enhance HEOR capabilities.
- Create a compelling vision that fosters a culture of innovation, high performance, and accountability while promoting diverse perspectives and empowering teams to think creatively in problem-solving and strategy development.
- Prioritize talent development through coaching and mentorship while building and leading high-performing teams that foster collaboration, align career goals with organizational objectives, and break down silos for greater impact.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
PhD, Health Services Research, Health Economics, Epidemiology, Public Health, Pharmacy or related field is required.
Proven expertise in functional areas with a strong understanding of cross-functional dynamics.
