Deli Associate/Cashier

Job description

We are hiring a deli clerk who has extensive experience slicing meat in an efficient and accurate manner. This is a year round position and you must be able to start at 9 am. Other duties include making subs, waiting on customers, answering phones, taking orders, filling coolers, slicing breads, cleaning and other various tasks. This is a part time position, 3 - 5 days a week starting at 9 am-5pm occasional days Tuesday-Saturday, closed Mondays. Must be available during the summer and holidays. This is a part-time position for that can turn into a full-time position for the right motivated employee.

As a Deli Associate/Cashier, you will be essential in delivering outstanding customer service while managing cash transactions and food handling. Your core skills in cash register operations will ensure efficient service, while your experience in the food industry will enhance the customer experience. You will utilize your basic math skills for accurate cash handling and contribute to a clean and organized work environment. Qualifications:

-Extensive meat slicing experience slicing up to 40 lbs in an hour

- Basic math skills for cash handling, simple fractions and reading an analog clock

- Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is needed

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

- Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact with customers in a friendly

and helpful manner

- Ability to lift 50 lbs, stand for long periods of time, be able to bend, squat, lift, clean things at floor level and handle a hot environment.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.50 - $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 25 per week
