Mechanical Engineering Intern
Vestas - American Wind Technology has an immediate opportunity for a Mechanical Engineering Intern to support the mechanical aspects of Vestas wind turbine installation and maintenance. This position supports the Mechanical Engineering department in performing mechanical engineering assignments using troubleshooting, root cause analysis and mechanical design with some latitude for action and decision making.
Responsibilities : General :
- A basic understanding of WTG product technology around mechanical systems.
- Possesses the ability to communicate with other engineers, field technicians and the Operations organization as a developing subject matter expert on mechanical systems topics.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of region-specific technical documentation in support of mechanical systems.
- Assist Mechanical Engineers in root cause analysis as required to resolve mechanical anomalies during turbine installation, commissioning and service.
- Assists in the development of cost-effective technical solutions for mechanical systems issues.
- In cooperation with VAME Engineers, coordinates activities with corporate engineering Research & Development department located in Denmark.
- Assists with internal failure analysis in support of commercial considerations.
- Able to present an overview of internship projects and conclusions to the Engineering department.
