Purpose :

This role is responsible to work to ensure the financial integrity of the Vesuvius business unit, including an accurate and timely close (both P&L and B / S).   Accountable for ongoing development and maintenance of product costs; partner with operations to trace costs back to underlying business activities.  Support business as partner to Plant Manager to drive plant savings.

Key Responsibilities :

• Manage the financial accounts of the entity, including monthly accruals, balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis. Recommend corrective actions to management based on analysis.
• Establish and maintain an environment of controls and compliance in line with Vesuvius standards.
• Analyze manufacturing variances to understand financial performance in cooperation with operations team and identify improvement opportunities.
• Manage and update standard costs in local ERP system; costing support will include actual products as well as new product inquiries.
• Support and provide input into planning, budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Produce ad hoc reports as required to enable decision making.
• Oversee inventory valuation and reconciliation.
• Conduct physical inventory counts and reconcile with the accounting system.
• Identify cost reduction opportunities and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Work with other departments to streamline processes and improve cost efficiency.
