Duties
- Assist groomers with bathing, drying, and brushing pets to maintain their hygiene and appearance.
- Handle dogs and other animals safely and effectively during grooming sessions.
- Provide basic care for pets, including feeding, walking, and monitoring their well-being.
- Maintain cleanliness of grooming tools, equipment, and work areas to ensure a safe environment for both pets and staff.
- Communicate with pet owners regarding their pets' needs and grooming preferences while providing excellent customer service.
- Assist in animal restraint as needed during grooming procedures to ensure safety for both the animal and the groomer.
- Support the team in heavy lifting tasks when necessary, including moving larger animals or equipment.
Requirements
- Previous experience in dog handling or pet care is preferred.
- Knowledge of basic pet grooming techniques is a plus but not required; on-the-job training will be provided.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the role.
- Familiarity with animal care practices, including dog training or equine experience, is advantageous.
- Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners and address their concerns.
- Experience as a veterinary assistant or similar roles will be beneficial but not mandatory.
