Seeking qualified PRESS BRAKE OPERATOR to join our team in Northport, AL. Our company serves many industrial markets including energy, construction, agriculture, and transportation. U.S. Military Veterans, National Guardsmen, Reservists, and/or Military Spouses are encouraged to apply.
Job Purpose
Responsible for bending and shaping metal plates and sheets according to specifications and blueprints, ensuring that the finished products meet quality standards and adhere to customer requirements, for the smooth running of the production business in the safest most efficient manner possible.
Pay: $20-$28/hour quarterly bonus potential
Schedule: M-F, 6am-2:30pm OR 7am-3:30pm

Duties & Responsibilities
· Set up and operate press brake machines to bend and shape metal plates and sheets.
· Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and production schedules to determine the required specifications for each job.
· Select the appropriate tooling, dies, and machinery settings for each bending operation.
· Position metal plates and sheets onto the press brake machine and accurately align them according to the specified measurements.
· Adjust machine settings such as speed, pressure, and depth to ensure precise bending and shaping of the metal.
· Monitor the operation of the press brake machine, making necessary adjustments to maintain quality and productivity.
· Inspect finished products to ensure they meet the required specifications, dimensions, and quality standards.
· Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of press brake machines to ensure optimal performance and prevent malfunctions.
· Troubleshoot and resolve minor machine issues or notify the maintenance department for repairs.
· Follow all company safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
Qualifications
Required Education & Experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent
· 1-2 years of experience operating press brake machines in a manufacturing or metal fabrication setting.
· Familiarity with quality control procedures and the ability to perform inspections or finished products.
· Willingness to undergo training and continuing education to stay updated with new techniques and technologies in press brake operations.
· Completion of the established Skill Pie per location.
· Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers, extremely organized.
· Working knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery and measurement tools (caliper, micrometer, etc.); ability to operate light equipment, good knowledge of mechanical devices.
· Previous crane and forklift experience preferred.
· Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
· Ability to work independently and as a team member to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
· Strong attention to details, analytical skills, exceptional judgement, dependable, excellent teamwork skills, good time management skills, creative, problem-solving, hardworking & persistent, professional competence, proactive.
· Forklift certification.
· Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Education & Experience
· Technical degree, or an equivalent combination of education & experience.
· 3-5 years of increasingly responsible experience as a press brake operator in a manufacturing or metal fabrication setting.
· Welder certification.
· Crane certification.
Working Conditions
· Travel 10% of time for meeting at other locations, deliveries, trainings, seminars & conferences as needed.
