What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Worker position at Veterans & Community Housing Coalition?
Qualifications: Must have general knowledge of all building trades in order to provide a safe and efficient working environment. Be mechanically inclined to handle all types of machinery and power tools. Must be in good physical condition and have a great work ethic along with being a team player. Must have a valid NYS Driver’s License.
Experience: 1-3 years’ experience in a maintenance environment and/or related industry/ Military experience.
Job duties:
· Work with Facilities Manager to complete scheduled maintenance tasks as directed.
· Ensure Tenants property is protected during maintenance work.
· Ensure properties grounds are well maintained and safe.
· Ensure all equipment is properly used, cleaned and stored.
· Through preventive maintenance, ensure all systems are inspected, cleaned and functional.
· Purchase all needed supplies for projects with Facilities Director approval and submit all receipts.
· Follow all agency policies in regards to purchasing.
· Inspect common areas of the properties to assure safety and identify issues.
· Prepare all vacated apartments for new tenants (removal of left items, cleaning, painting, etc.).
· Report all issues and concerns to the facilities manager immediately.
· Participate in the on-call rotation as instructed by the Director of Facilities.
· Be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
· Professional interaction with residents, while ensuring strong boundaries are in place and exercised at all times.
Other duties as assigned by the Facilities Director.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
