Position Summary:
The HR Coordinator will play a key role in supporting the daily functions of the Human Resources Department. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of HR practices, compliance and a passion for supporting a team dedicated to serving veterans. The coordinator will be involved in recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration and maintaining compliance with employment laws and organizational policies.
Responsibilities:
- Manage recruitment and onboarding processes, including sourcing, interviewing, background checks and new employee orientation.
- Administer employee benefits, leave and compensation programs.
- Maintain employee records and ensure HR compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Support employee relations, performance management and training initiatives.
- Develop and implement HR policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration or a related field.
- 2 years of HR experience, preferably in a non-profit or social services environment.
- Strong knowledge of HR principles, practices and employment laws.
- Excellent organizational, time-management, communication and people skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems, specifically ADP Workforce Now.
- SHRM-CP or other HR certification is a plus.
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record and automobile insurance.
- A passion for serving the veteran community.
