Duration: 6 months of Contract possible extensions
Work Schedule: Hybrid - 3 days onsite/ 2 days remote, per week
Job Description
Project Manager III is responsible for planning and governance and for overseeing the successful delivery of the project/program’s output/product.
Project Manager III should have experience managing multiple high-risk projects, including projects involving external vendors and multiple business areas. When groups of related projects are organized to align to strategic initiative, this position may manage overall initiative delivery.
Although knowledge of the business is important, there is more stress on his or her project management skills. Project Manager III must have practical experience of having been a project manager for large and complex initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Daily project management throughout the project life cycle
- Defining the project governance and manage all aspects of a project life cycle, to bring about the desired outcomes
- Planning the overall program/project and monitoring the progress
- Managing the initiative budget
- Managing risks and issues and taking corrective measurements
- Coordinating the projects and their interdependencies
- Managing and utilizing resources across projects
- Managing stakeholders’ communication
- Aligning the deliverables (outputs) to the program’s “outcome” working with business stakeholders
- Maintaining all required program and project documentation.
Skills and attributes:
- The program manager must have strong practical experience in project management, which was gained through managing large and complex projects. He or she must have the following:
- Good knowledge and handling of project and program management methodology and techniques
- Good understanding of the wider objectives of the program
- Ability to work positively with the wide range of individuals involved in program management
- Strong leadership and management skills
- Good knowledge of budgeting and resource allocation procedures
- The ability to find innovative ways to resolve problems
- Understanding of the strategic and operational issues of the project or business unit
- Ability to train, mentor, and develop project managers in project management methodologies and their application
- Liaison and consultative skills; negotiating skills within a context of high political sensitivity and conflicting interests
- Presentation and written communication skills
- Ability to advise on complex matters to non-specialists
- Demonstrated ability in managing internal and external client expectations on program requirements and deliverables
- Highly developed business acumen
- Skilled at requirements analysis and management
- Strong writing, mentoring, negotiation, communication, and meeting facilitation skills; ability to utilize a combination of formal authority and persuasion skill sets
- Strong coordination across all aspects of a project or program
- Ability to plan and manage dependencies in a matrix environment
Suggested Background, Experience and/or Education :
- This position requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 5-7 years project management experience with experience in large, complex projects and management of distributed project resource teams;
- 3-5 years of experience in the industry with previous supervisory or coaching experience.
- Proficient using JIRA Align, JIRA, SharePoint, and other software for project and task management.
- Process Improvement methodology experience preferred (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean, Kaizen, SAFe, etc.).
- An ability to articulate and clearly communicate complex problems and solutions in a simple and logical manner.
- Excellent problem-solving analytical capabilities with strong attention to detail.
- Domain experience in insurance and / or financial industries preferred.
Salary : $75 - $82
