Description
The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing and managing the accounting operations for the company. This role involves ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger, preparing reports, reconciling accounts, and providing support in the preparation of budgets and forecasts. The Senior Accountant works closely with internal teams and external auditors to maintain compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies. Additionally, this position is instrumental in identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency within the accounting department.
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the general accounting function, including management of journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations to deliver timely and accurate financial closings.
• Oversee all accounts, ledgers, subledgers and reporting systems to ensure compliance with appropriate GAAP standards; ensure that company’s accounting policies are being maintained and followed
• Oversee revenue cycle to ensure proper reporting and compliance with GAAP.
• Oversee the payroll process to ensure compensation is properly recorded.
• Assist outside tax accountants with corporate federal and state tax return supporting schedules.
• Ability to perform special assignments as required by the business
• Research and resolve all payroll related issues.
• Monitor accounts receivables and accounts payables aging and assist in resolving outstanding accounts as needed.

Qualifications
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong technical understanding of generally accepted accounting principles
- Full cycle accounting completing month-end close
- Previous payroll management experience
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
- Experience with annual audit preparations and resolution of audit inquiries
- Possess strong time management skills and detailed orientation

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required. CPA is a plus
• 4 years of GL accounting experience, including closing the books and financial statement preparation and analysis
• Experience with QuickBooks preferred
Physical Requirements:
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift 10-15 pounds at times.
• Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
Salary : $85,000 - $105,000
