The Maintenance Mechanic conducts repairs to the physical plant and plant equipment, conducts preventative maintenance and project work and ensures continuous operation of mechanical and electrical systems on mobile and fixed manufacturing equipment.
Ways you will make a difference
Disassembles, inspects, reassembles, troubleshoots, repairs, welds and replaces malfunctioning parts or equipment
Installs change parts on our production machinery to allow us to run a different size, shape or product.
Performs routine preventive maintenance procedures as per schedule.
Sets up tablet presses for operation (tooling changes).
Adjust tablet presses during operation to improve operation.
Cleans, lubricates and adjusts sections or parts of plant equipment to improve efficiency, quality, or operation.
Reads blueprints, diagrams and machinery manuals to diagnose problems, identify parts, and learn proper equipment operation.
Installs new equipment.
Actively seeks to find problems in assigned area and corrects before the problems become critical (under close supervision).
Communicates conditions of equipment by: completing appropriate maintenance records, transferring knowledge of conditions to incoming mechanics or lubricators at shift change, and informing the supervisor of significant problems.
Displays cooperation by working closely with manufacturing personnel.
Improves work related skills by actively pursuing outside schooling or plant provided programs.
Performs other duties as assigned.

High School Diploma Preferred.
2-year Technical Degree in Maintenance field such as Industrial Maintenance or Mechanical Maintenance, OR related area of study, OR Journeyman Certification preferred
Experiences that will support your success
Completion of 2-year Technical Degree in Maintenance field such as Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Maintenance or related area of study AND 1 year of prior experience as an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic is required.
Experience must include diagnostic troubleshooting, repairing and replacing defective parts, adjusting machinery, and modifying units to meet proper operating specifications.
Experience In a Food-manufacturing Environment Is Preferred
Working knowledge in the area of pipefitting and rigging
Basic knowledge of steam distribution systems and principles
Working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic principles
Basic understanding of industrial electricity including motor basics and controls
Basic knowledge of industrial automation and PLC based controls
Communication skills (able to communicate verbally with leaders and co-workers to accomplish tasks, able to read instructions and engineering documents, able to give and receive feedback, and ask questions)
Critical Thinking Skills (able to reason, solve problems, analyze graphs, interpret data, troubleshoot equipment and systems, participate and lead process improvement, make decisions, and locate information)
