Job Description
AGS is looking for a Security Supervisor to work in Florence, AZ. Lieutenants are responsible of ensuring the safety and security of detainees in custody, acting in accordance with the highest ethical standards at all times, and ensuring a spirit of fairness and integrity in the on-going execution of Detention Officers and Transportation Officers in their duties. Lieutenants for the Florence Service Processing Center are assigned inside the detention facility and are directly responsible for the supervision and movement of Officers and detainees within the facility secure perimeter. Responsibilities
Performs duties related to the detention, processing, safeguarding, security, and escort of detainees as required in the contract.
Exercises surveillance and control over Officers and detainees, and maintains order and discipline.
Enforces rules and regulations of the detention facility.
Provides care, custody and control of detainees.
Performs all work duties and activities in accordance with organization policies and procedures.
Follows company-wide safety policies and practices and adheres to responsibilities concerning safety prevention, reporting and monitoring as outlined in the Officer Handbook and other Company Safety Policies.
Successfully completes all assigned training including defensive tactics and course requiring a minimum physical stamina.
Performs all work duties and activities in accordance with organization policies and procedures.
Follows company-wide safety policies and practices and adheres to responsibilities concerning safety prevention, reporting and monitoring as outlined in the Officer Handbook and other Company Safety Policies.
Ensures shift scheduling provides adequate staff coverage for their shift.
Completes a health, safety and sanitation inspection of each post
Completes shift reports to be turned into the Supervisory Detention and Deportation Officer (SDDO) and AGS shift Captain.
Inspects facility and unit Logs for accuracy
Maintains the secure and orderly operation of facility in accordance to the Performance Based National Detention Standards (PBNDS) and the American Correctional Association (ACA) standards.
Ensures the sanitation of the facility is maintained.
Ensures that staff assigned to the Florence Facility maintain accurate documentation of all activities on their assigned post and ensure staff signs their assigned Post Orders.
Coordinates movement and transfers with the ICE Transportation Coordinator or Transportation Shift Supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities:
Speak, read, write, and understand English.
Concisely and accurately prepare and write narratives of incidents and other written reports.
Pass and maintain required medical and physical testing requirements and standards.
Exercises judgment and uses discretion in dealing with first response to all situations.
Demonstrate proficiency in methods and techniques of securing and controlling detainees by following required training, policy and procedure.
Always maintain physical fitness standards and proficiency with any special equipment assigned and used while employed on this contract.
Maintain a professional personal appearance, calm demeanor, and discretion with confidential information.
Possess a high degree of integrity, accountability and adhere to the DHS ICE National Detention Standards.
Ability to work with a diverse population of people, including people of different cultures, with different values and lifestyles; with a cross-cultural perspective.

US citizenship is required.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
A minimum of 5 years of security, law enforcement or military experience preferred.
Pass a criminal background and consumer credit check (no criminal record).
Obtain and maintain a DHS/ICE government clearance.
Pass all pre-employment and random drug tests.
Pass a medical examination and meet health requirements.
At least 21 years of age.
Possess a valid state driver's license.
Ability to obtain and maintain a state security guard license.
Ability to walk through all areas of the facility for tours and compliance inspections in varied weather conditions.
Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend and reach for extended periods of time.
Ability to respond quickly during emergency situations.
Ability to work without restrictions and limitations.

Ability to maintain poise and self-control during potential emergencies and unexpected situations that may involve mental and physical stress such as disturbances, altercations, fires, and building evacuations.

Must be able to push a wheelchair bound individual weighing up to 300 lbs and helping individual in and out of chair.
Must be able to bend, stoop, crawl, kneel, twisting, reaching overhead and climb stairs, ladders and slopes periodically.
